The FIA has set a series of regulations regarding the production of vehicles for the brand new championship.

All of the teams will be required to use the recently developed Spark-Renault 0E1 during the first season. However, competitors will have the right to drive their own specially designed cars from the second season and onwards.

Driving Eco-Friendly Car Development

The development of the electric motoring championship has been based around the 3 essential values of energy, environment and entertainment. It is expected to act as a major incentive for the development of environmentally friendly, high performance vehicles. Teams such as Virgin Racing, Andretti Autosport and Super Aguri have already registered for the event.

The races are set to be held at circuits in 10 major cities including Beijing, Los Angeles and London from September 2014 to June 2015. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of musical entertainments and listen to environmental talks. Practice, qualifying and racing will all be held during the space of a few hours, so ticket holders can be sure of value for money.

Some of the most experienced motoring enthusiasts may be surprised at the excitement and drama of the electric races. Drivers such as Vitantonio Liuzzi and Jon Lancaster will be pushing their vehicles to the limit in a bid to win the first world championship.
