LED Strip Light SMD 3528 LED 30/metre LED Lighting Strip Flexible Tape 0.08w/LED Tape

Its easy to assemble a complete LED strip light kit using our LED power supplies and range of dimmable controllers. The tape can be cut to length at regular intervals 2-3cm along the cut lines marked on the LED tape. The LED strips have 3M self adhesive tape that can provide a permanent installation or they can be mounted in C channels or similar. They are very flexible and very well made with constant light output and colour unlike the cheaper versions. They are designed to last 30000Hrs.

Note: A full 5m role comes with a power cable at one end, 12+ and 12-. Strips sold in 1-4m lenghts dont have a power cable connected. To connect power to the cable the best way is to simply solder 2 power cables to the end of the strip. It is also possible to purchase connectors to join strips to strips or provide a power supply.

To calculate the size of power supply (in Amps) you need to multiply the length of the LED tape by the number of the LEDs/metre and then multiply this by the power of the LED (0.08w for SMD3528 and 0.24w for SMD5050). Then divide the value by 12 volts to calculate the required Amperage of the power supply. We recommend you add at least 10% to the calculated value to allow for resistance and losses in the cables.

Example 1: A 5m roll of SMD3528 with 30LED/m would be: (5m x 30 x 0.08) / 12 = 1amps +10% = power supply of 1.1Amps.

Example 2: A 5m roll of SMD5050 with 30LED/m would be: (5m x 30 x 0.24) / 12 = 3amps +10% = power supply of 3.3Amps

For best results over 2m length you can provide a 12volt feed to both ends of the strip or one feed in the middle (cutting the strip into two is normally the easiest option to accomodate this).
